A Night at Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse

Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse is one of the finest steak houses in the country. Executive Chef Jack Martinez and General Manager Jorge Henriquez treated Tammy and I to a wonderful dinning experience on Friday Night. Like all New Orleans stories, Jorge Henriquez and I have our own unique past. He and I were at Brother Martin High school together (Like Jorge joked “In another life time”) way back when. Through his time with the Brennan family, I have always seen him and chatted with him about various aspects of the business.

Chef Jack made several visits to the table. We chatted about food, his specials, and his passion, Steak. I got the Cowboy (bone-in) Ribeye with a surf and turf care of Chef Jack. When you look at the menu for this steak, it’s not there. You have to ask your wait person for it. As they use only the finest 2% US Prime Beef, they cut everything on the spot; so my special cut is always available. The wife had a beautiful Red Fish with lovely vegetables and potatoes courtesy of LA Fresh. The dessert was a real treat. First, Jorge sent it to the table complimentary. Thank You. Second, the Triple Chocolate Cake, while having all the appearances of chocolate decadent indulgence was exceptionally lite due to the three different mousses interwoven through it. All and all a fantastic meal with some very passionate restaurateurs.
